Back in Queensland

Yay! Back in the best state! We don't have a silly half hour time difference here like in South Australia and NT, and we have more cool wildlife than in Victoria, it's warmer than Tassie and the roads are maintained better than in NSW.

The only problem is that our car licence plate is from Queensland so for the past few months whenever I annoy other drivers with my shit driving I always had the excuse that I was a foreigner and I didn't know any better!


As I haven't really posted anything from SA or NT, here is a round up of what we got up to on the road.

We camped by the Murray River and Mathias made his famous curry. The car stank for a week.

Went to a salt lake...

and enjoyed the sunset

Visited Coober Pedy where half the population lives underground! Here is an underground church...

And here is Mathias enjoying emu pizza above ground

We looked at this rock... a lot.

Combed our hair with our fingers (hobo style)...

so that we could look sexy at Uluru

We also looked at other rocks (Kata Tjuta)...

and hiked around them

We touched this rock that was a lake bed 400 million years ago

Went to the gym

Sat at the top of this canyon because it was windy and I was scared of being blown over the edge

Saw a dingo!

Went to a place called "Emily's Gap" and resisted taking inappropriate photos

Hiked around a bit

Learnt a lot about European history in Australia and not a whole lot about Aboriginal history :/

Did ridiculous things for the sake of a good photo

Possibly went to the centre of Australia (it's disputed)

Visited the UFO capital of Australia

And looked at more rocks! (Devil's Marbles)

And had a damn good time along the way :)
